Assessment of Applicability of Clinical Performance of EYEMAX free RGP Contact Lenses

Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this research is to assess applicability of clinical performance of EYEMAX free(Happy vision, Korea) RGP lens for improving ocular asthenopia in terms of distant and near vision correction effect, symptoms after wearing the lens and testee¡¯s satisfaction about ocular asthenopia.

Methods: Investigation was done with 35 people(70 eyes) aged between 18 and 43 in terms of distant and near vision correction, symptoms after wearing the lens, lens adaptation and ocular asthenopia correction effect after wearing EYEMAX free RGP lens for a month.

Results: At pretest, average distant and near corrected eyesights by glasses of subjects were 0.97¡¾0.08D, 1.04¡¾0.19D respectively and at post-test after wearing contact lenses for a month, they were 1.19¡¾0.16D, 1.30¡¾0.13D respectively which were higher than corrected eyesights by glasses. As for symptoms after wearing the lenses for a month, dryness and foreign body sensation were most frequent ones. As for lens adaptation, 23 subjects answered they adapted easily, 3 answered it was difficult and 9 was in the middle. At assessment of 6 items of satisfaction with lenses, the percentage of subjects who gave 0-2 points were more than 66.7%, which showed effectiveness of wearing lenses.

Conclusions: As 97.2% of subjects showed improvement in distant and near vision correction after wearing EYEMAX free RGP lens, the lens can be said to be effective in correcting eyesight. And it is also a functional RGP lens with high satisfaction in terms of improving ocular asthenopia.
